Although the sun can create natural highlights, I always start summer with a half head of blonde foils to instantly lighten and brighten my look. Use intensive treatments a few times a week to protect and seal in moisture.

Sublime shine
Use a shine activation shampoo and conditioner such as Redken Blonde Glam, plus an anti-frizz spray for a perfect blow dry.
Chop, chop
Short androgynous styles are the statement cut of the season on the catwalk and the big screen, while fringes are now long and overgrown or completely side swept.
Lush lashes
It’s official – fake eyelashes are in. Stick with subtle individual lashes for day events and strip lashes for more dramatic evening looks.
Golden glow
A tan looks great in spring, but keep it fake. Proper preparation and a quality product will help you get that natural-looking glow.

Pony up
Winter fashion features much thicker, heavier, more opulent and textured fabrics by designers. A slick side-parted pony tail creates chic contrast to all the layering and heaviness of this wardrobe and lets the cut of clothes really shine.
Get conditioned
I like to use a conditioning mask once a week during winter to keep my hair in top condition. Deep conditioning salon treatments are a must. Go for one that preserves or revives your colour.
Shine on
I adore gloss treatments during winter. They’re a fantastic way to give your mane a super shiny top coat.

Luxurious locks: Autumn fashion is all about opulent textures like lace, leather and tweed. Hair this season will reflect these ultra luxurious and feminine fabrics. Beautiful blow waves: Add a heat protecting spray or cream, find a great volumising mouse, use a top-quality round ceramic hairbrush and spray dry shampoo at the roots to maintain the lift at the crown. Overnight curls: Between washes, as your hair’s natural oils emerge, twist or braid your hair overnight, and then shake it out to create a sexy, subtle wave. Finish this look off with a light texurizing mist.

When the Oscars roll around, the stars pull out the big guns in the dress department, so my prediction is for simple, classic and elegant styles to emerge on the red carpet. It's also an evening that demands styles that are not only sophisticated but long wearing.
Those wanting to balance out their big gowns and jewels will opt for elegant updo's, but rather than playing it ultra safe and doing the predictable french roll, I think there will be a more modern approach this year in the form of a slightly dishevelled french style bun featured heavily on runways this season.
Long hair will be set in very soft, luxurious waves reminiscent of old world Hollywood, with a definite nod to Veronica Lake, but a more relaxed approach with an emphasis on shine. Small vintage hair pins will feature in both long styles as a side clip and also in updos...

The multi-award winning Mad Men series and it's styling will continue to heavily influence hair, makeup and wardrobe styling. Mid length hair will have that soft set ala Grace Kelly, although more volume than the stiff tight set of the 50's. Men too will want to channel some of that mid-century cool in both their suiting and grooming. Rugged beauty will celebrated in the dishevelled locks of male cinematic champions such as Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo; teamed back with narrow lapelled vintage styled tuxedos. And the big question is, will "True Grit" oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld wear braids? Heads of Hair to watch on the red carpet: Anne Hathway, Angelina Jolie, Amy Adams and Michelle Williams, Javier Bardem, James Franco and Leonardo Di Caprio. Erika x

Conical Curlers: I love that it creates a more relaxed or irregular wave - rather than a tight and dated curl. They are also a breeze to use, and create super fast body and movement. TIP: Use a volumising spray before drying, and then a light sea salt spray to give it soft, natural texture that lasts.
Treatments: I like to give my hair a break from over-styling during summer and go heavy on the treatments. Either a hair mask - which I apply overnight to really soak in or otherwise I always pack a leave in conditioner/hair oil in my bag when I go to the beach to put in after I've been swimming.
My Summer Fashion Essential: A long strap baby bag. Summer is full of festivals and fun, so I dump the car boot sized handbag so I can travel light and keep my hands free to dance and drink.

Heat it up: Tired of looking the same in every photo? Use a straightener to heat up your look and make yourself appear completely different! If you’ve got straight locks use a straightener to add curls or waves, or if you’re normally a wavy girl try a straight sleek look for a change.
Do it yourself: Hair extensions and accessories allow you to instantly change your look! With minimal effort you can lengthen your locks, add a fringe or add style to your ponytail with a braided headband. Perfect for the party season!
Pull it up: Everyone knows what humidity can do to your hair, so for an elegant up-do with minimum fuss, pull back your hair into a high bun and fasten with bobby pins for a chic, graceful look that will also keep you cool long into the night.

1. Spring Style. Stay on trend this Spring by accessorising your hair with bow’s, feathers, headbands and plaits. 2. Fascinating Finish. Tease the hair in the area you want to position your fascinator or clip using a fine tooth comb to help fasten it securely and stop it from sliding out.

Serum is an oil that closes the hair follicle and lightly coast each strand to make it shiny without weighing it down. It can be used on wavy hair to define curls or on straight hair for a smooth, glossy finish.
Here are Erika's winter style hair serum tips:
HEAT PROTECTION. If you use heated hair styling gadgets regularly like me, use a hair serum to provide a thin protective layer on the hair strands.
FRIZZ CONTROL. Avoid frizz and fly-aways caused by humidity, by using hair serum - it helps repel unwanted moisture and leaves hair looking sleek and smooth.
SILKY SMOOTH. I like to add a few drops of hair serum to give me hair that appears healthy, silky and shiny.

Dry Shampoo leaves hair clean and fresh in between washes. Just spray it in, dust it out and you’re ready to go!
Extended life of your blow dry. Use dry shampoo to extend the life of your blow dry by double.
Revive your hair. Instantly revive your hair by spraying dry shampoo directly to the root area. This helps create volume and adds texture.
Time Saver. When time is getting the better of you, use dry shampoo to re-invigorate your style without water.

The side part is back in a big way and is quick way to revamp your look! Simply dry fringe using a round brush and hairdryer in a downward motion and then part on the side that best compliments your face. Finish with a spray of hair lacquer to lock in the look.
